The title itself «Proposition» – «P oposition» puts the importance of (individual) artistic representation into question. The artistic statement as a suggestion (along with its contrary) bears something temporary and transitory.

The void that ensues could also be seen as an offer to the visitor to create his/her own idea from the visual propositions presented.

Lisa Biedlingmaier questions conventions and expectations demanded that curators, the art market and the audience are used to in an exhibition and foils these: the traditional opening speech as a live act and legitimation of artistic work is demystified and presented in the form of an image-text montage to the audience instead. The supposed solo exhibition is staged as a group exhibit, where different artistic (body) postures and life concepts are shown. Steady exhibition components like lighting change constantly, bringing the attention to further elements and situations.

Bereits das Wortspiel "Proposition P oposition" relativiert die Wichtigkeit der künstlerischen (Einzel) Präsentation. Die künstlerische Setzung als Vorschlag (samt dessen Gegenteil) besitzt etwas Vorläufiges und Transitorisches.

Diese Lücke, die hierbei entsteht, könnte auch als Angebot an den Besucher gelesen werden, sich sein eigenes Bild von den visuellen Angeboten zu machen.

Lisa Biedlingmaier hinterfragt die Konventionen und Erwartungen, die von Kuratoren, Kunstmarkt und Publikum an eine Ausstellung gestellt werden und konterkariert diese: Das Ritual der Eröffnungsrede als Liveauftritt und Legitimation künstlerischen Schaffens wird entauratisiert und nur noch als mediatisierter Bild-Text zugegen sein. Die vermeintliche Einzelausstellung wird zur Gruppenausstellung inszeniert, in der unterschiedliche künstlerische (Körper)Haltungen und Lebenskonzepte präsentiert werden.

Konstante Bestandteile einer Ausstellung wie beispielsweise die Beleuchtung, verändern sich und rücken immer wieder andere Exponate und Situationen ins Licht der Aufmerksamkeit.
